João Macedo Domingos and his wife Lauretta are both CABU alumni — and João is taking the gospel where few are willing to go. A trained church planter with deep roots in Angola, he is strategically positioned to reach a region long neglected by gospel workers.
In March 2026, Kitwe Church in Kitwe, Zambia, commissioned João to plant Igreja Bíblica Redenção (Redemption Bible Church) in Cuito-Bié. He had served the congregation faithfully — first as a deacon, then as a pastor appointed in 2023 — and is being sent as a minister known, loved, and affirmed by his own church.
The need is urgent. Angola's 40 million people are largely without gospel-preaching churches. The prosperity gospel, traditional religion, and Mormonism fill the void, while most evangelical workers remain clustered in Luanda. Bié Province, deep in the interior, is largely untouched by biblical Christianity.
João, Lauretta, and their daughter Cisola departed for Angola on April 7. Their seven-year strategy begins with door-to-door evangelism and home Bible studies, with the goal of a self-sustaining congregation capable of planting daughter churches throughout the region.
This is what faithful investment in African leaders looks like. CABU trained João — and Kitwe Church is sending him to the nations.
