OUR CALLING
Our Purpose, Vision & Mission
Our Purpose
Training the next generation of servant leaders in Africa for Great Commission living.
Our Vision
"To facilitate obedience to the Great Commission until Christ has been made known by reproducing gospel-preaching churches in every village, town & city across Africa."
Our Mission
The mission of Central Africa Baptist University is to glorify God by advancing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ by equipping servant-leaders to be pastors, evangelists, educators, and trainers of Christian leaders for service to Christ our King across Africa.
This is to be accomplished through a God-honoring, Christ-centered, Scripture-saturated educational program and environment unashamedly committed to the passionate worship of God in truth, submission to the authority of Scripture, a life of personal holiness, the priority of the local church, and the mission of evangelizing the world by making disciples and teaching them to observe all things that Christ has commanded.
Our Purpose
H.O.W.S.
Before hands are trained, hearts must be formed. Everything we do flows from four core values — the character of Christ shaped in our students from the inside out.
Honesty
Live Authentically
Being transparent with God and with others.
Obedience
Love Selflessly
Doing what I should do, when I should do it, and how I should do it — with the right heart, attitude, and spirit toward the authority asking it of me.
Wisdom
Think Biblically
Skill, ability, and insight gained from God's Word, for the purpose of living a life that honors and glorifies God.
Service
Serve Humbly
Investing my life in ministry for the good of others, rather than for the pleasure or advancement of self.
Our Strategy
Five Pillars, One Vision: The Cultivation of Healthy Reproducing Churches
CABU's Five Pillars provide the framework for this work, training servant-leaders who understand God's constant presence, Coram Deo, in every dimension of ministry. Through life-on-life discipleship across these pillars, CABU equips leaders to shepherd souls and provide comprehensive spiritual and practical care.
School of Bible
The theological and spiritual core of CABU. Students are immersed in Scripture through mentorship, chapel, and rigorous coursework, graduating equipped to preach, teach, and lead with integrity in local church and cross-cultural ministry settings.
School of Education
Recognizing that gospel transformation extends into every sphere of society, CABU trains Christian educators who bring a biblical worldview into schools and communities. In many regions where graduates serve, there are no adequate schools for children, making Christian educators as strategically vital as pastors, in reaching the 48% of the population under age 15.
Central Africa Seminary (CAS)
Advanced theological training for men called to pastor, plant churches, and lead at the highest levels of ministry. Launched in January 2026 with full accreditation, CAS equips leaders with the depth of biblical and theological grounding needed to shepherd faithfully, resolve doctrinal challenges, and mentor the next generation of church planters.
Theological Studies by Extension (TSE)
Celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2025, TSE takes theological training directly into underserved communities, serving rural and bivocational pastors who cannot relocate for residential study. To date, TSE has equipped more than 3,000 church leaders across the African continent.
Imbila Publishers
CABU's publishing arm produces theologically sound, African-authored resources in local languages, ensuring that the fruit of CABU's training continues to disciple believers and equip pastors long after the classroom is left behind.
This integrated approach produces servant leaders who establish churches that serve as centers of both spiritual transformation and community development, fulfilling CABU's vision of healthy, reproducing churches for God's glory. All of it rests on one foundation, Coram Deo (before the face of God), and moves toward one end, Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the glory).
